Ask the Commander

What Is It?

"Ask the Commander" is a new program designed as communication tool to allow Soldiers, civilians and family members to get concerns addressed and questions answered by the garrison commander.

All submitted questions will go directly to the garrison commander, and then the questions will be answered in the Hawaii Army Weekly newspaper and broadcast on TV2, a channel available on Army installations.

Due to newspaper space limitations, only a sampling of the questions received can be printed, but the commander will be made aware of all customer concerns and select those questions that have community-wide impacts. Generally, USAG-HI directorates and support staff will research queries and provide responses

Please note that questions are not answered immediately because they have to be staffed through directorates and support staff offices first. For time-sensitive questions, please direct queries through the Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) system.

The "Ask the Commander" program adds to the many ways customers can communicate within USAG-HI. Prime among other methods are the Interactive Customer Evaluation program, or ICE, and quarterly town hall meetings.

How Can I Submit A Question?

(If you previously sent an e-mail to AskTheCommander@hawaii.army.mil and never received a response, please resend your question. There were technical difficulties with that e-mail account from June 22-Aug. 3)

  • Attend a monthly videotaping session. Your question will be videotaped and then answered later by the garrison commander. Answers are broadcast on TV2 and placed online. See the " Post Information" page for dates, times and locations.
