News You Can Use

Tropical Storm Ana

It is critical that all military and civilian personnel are prepared:

Flooding: Personnel should expect strong winds and heavy rain, which often produce flooding and abnormally high tides. Rushing flood waters can be deeper and stronger than they appear, and carry debris, rocks and mud. Check out the Flooding and Hurricane fact sheets for more information.

Emergency Kits: All residents, whether living on or off post, need to have an Emergency Kit prepared with basic supplies - like food, water and medications - for every member of your family. This kit should have enough supplies to last at least three days, although five to seven days is preferred. Emergency Kits should be brought to any shelter or safe haven, if an evacuation is necessary. Check out the Emergency Kit fact sheet for a suggestion list.

Safe Havens: At this time, on-post Safe Havens are not being set up. Safe Havens serve as temporary locations for Department of Defense ID cardholders who have nowhere else to go for shelter during the storm. If Safe Havens need to be opened on post, information regarding the locations and hours will be released through garrison channels at a later time. Check out the Safe Haven fact sheet for more information.

Updates will be posted, as available, on:
